Stadsbierhuys De Waag is there for everyone. As a cosy inn, a summer terrace, a bustling grand café, a fine restaurant, an unforgettable wedding location, a business retreat and, of course, a thirst-quenching Stadsbierhuys. People therefore see De Waag as their second living room. A much older living room admittedly, but that is exactly what makes it so cosy. You have to experience De Waag.
Come home to De Waag
The oldest restaurant in the Netherlands
Since 1478, many travellers, robbers, traders, merchants, inventors, workers, damsels and dignitaries have gone before you. All fell for De Waag’s charm. But sometimes, unfortunately, there was no more room at the inn. If only they had had a reservation button back then….
Dining at De Waag
A forerunner in vegan dishes, but at the same time the trusted address for meat and fish lovers. De Waag fills every stomach. Our kitchen is open daily from 11am to 9.30pm.
Do you have dietary requirements or allergies? Tell us when making your reservation and we will inform our chefs.
From a Stadsbierhuys Beer House, you know what to expect.... Exactly. With no fewer than 12 different taps, we quench the thirst of every beer-guzzler in Doesburg and the surrounding area.
At De Waag, it is good to do business, brainstorm and hold meetings in an authentic and inspiring setting. Something different from under a system ceiling somewhere along the highway.
Plenty to do
Young and old find their way to De Waag for all kinds of events. We have some certainties, such as monthly live music. You enjoy this every second Sunday of the month and we do so from October to March. And sometimes we organise something spontaneous. Check out the upcoming events below.
The oldest, the realest
De Waag is the oldest catering establishment in the Netherlands. ust look in the Guinness Book of Records. De Waag has seen it all happen. It has seen Doesburg flourish and grow. And De Waag? De Waag has always remained De Waag. Sure, moving with the times, food trends and amenities. But that authentic look? That remains. Because no interior designer can design authenticity. It's either just there, or it's not. Book soon and experience it for yourself.
